A wonderful focal-point plant in a garden or yard, along a street or patio, Yoshino cherry puts on a show during early spring. In fact, it is the type of cherry tree featured in the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.  When in bloom, fragrant light pink to white blooms adorn the branches, and drive flying pollinators crazy (as long as it is warm enough for them to fly). The fruit is not edible to people, but birds like the small black berries.
