Hibiscus coccineus or 'Texas Star' forms a clump of 3 to 4-foot tall stalks that produce gorgeous, large (6"+)red flowers from mid-summer until frost. This southeastern native can handle swampy and wet conditions but also does quite well in average soil. Pollinators and hummingbirds love this plant. In winter, this plant is dormant, and is cut back for shipping. It will regrow from the base of the plant in spring.
