St. John's Wort has been used medicinally for thousands of years, and makes a hardy perennial plant in most cooler locations. Attractive yellow flowers form in summer, which, along with some leaves, are what people harvest to make tea. This variety has been bred to have higher concentrations of active medicinal compounds. It can spread aggressively in some locations with underground runners or seeds, so make sure to keep this in mind if you plant it in your garden. With that in mind, it does grow well in pots, so that would help stop the unwanted spread of the plant.
