Snowy Mermaid - Libertia chilensis

Blooming bright white flowers on two-foot stalks, Snowy Mermaid can be a valuable addition to a perennial flower bed. Tough and pest-resistant, this plant can live for years, slowly spreading through underground rhizomes. It is adaptable to various soil types, as long as the soil is well-drained. Strappy iris-like leaves rarely need maintenance, other than the occasional trimming of spent foliage during winter.
