Penstemon 'Twizzle Purple' - Penstemon barbatus

A 2017 AAS award winner as well as a Fleuroselect Gold Medal award, Penstemon 'Twizzle Purple' blooms vibrant purple flowers on stalks 24"-36" in height. Planted in the middle or towards the back of the flower bed, it makes a nice color contrast to a yellow flowered coreopsis. Also called beard tongues, penstemons are North American natives, and are resistant to heat and dry weather. The colorful flowers are magnets for hummingbirds and other winged pollinators.
