Meadowsweet is a perennial herb that has long been used for it's medicinal properties. It was in fact an original source and inspiration for the name aspirin. Preferring damp but not soggy soil, this plant will treat gardeners to masses of creamy white fragrant blooms on stalks several feet high. It can grow so well that in some locations it is considered weedy. Full sun is the preference for best blooms, although in hotter locations, it definitely benefits from shade during the afternoon.                                                           Also called: Queen of the Meadow, Mead Wort, Meadsweet, Bridewort, Spirea Ulmaria
