Lobelia Starship Scarlet - Lobelia speciosa

This lobelia really stands out with it's dark leaves, but still has the eye-catching bright red flower stalks of Lobelia cardinalis. The care is typical of other lobelia. Consistently moist soil and full to partial sun is required if you want as many blooms as possible. By mid to late summer, 2-foot tall flower stalks will delight hummingbirds, bees and people. It tends to make abundant seeds, so if you're worried about the plant dying, sprinkle some of the dried seeds around the garden to enjoy more plants the next year.
