Joe Pye Weed 'Gateway' - Eutrochium maculatum

Joe Pye Weed 'Gateway' is a hardy native that will make a great perennial addition to a flower bed. Preferring moist sites with medium amounts of sun, this plant is deer resistant and fairly rugged. The mass of light pink flowers appear in midsummer, and are an insect magnet. It can get over 4 feet tall, so make sure you plant this in a place where it can grow, or just pinch back the growing tips when it gets to the height you like. In winter this plant is dormant, and is shipped with the stem cut back. It will regrow from the base of the plant in the spring.
