Japanese maples are a beautiful tree for landscape use, and their compact nature lends them to a wide variety of locations. Small burgundy leaves emerge in the spring, then towards mid-summer, the leaves take on a green color. In the fall, they turn bright shades of red, yellow, or orange. This tree does not have a cultivar name, but is a somewhat taller variety, growing to perhaps 20 feet tall. Japanese maples can be planted in the ground or in pots.
