Himalayan honeysuckle 'Gold Leaf' is unlike any of the vining honeysuckle, in that it forms a bushy 6-foot tall plant with flowering bracts and bright green leaves. Mildly fragrant, the flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and produce purple berries that are said to be edible and taste like toffee or chocolate. Native to Asia, this free-blooming perennial is winter hardy to zones 7-10. In colder areas of that range it will die down to the ground, and sprout from the ground in the spring.
