'Black Mission' is an old variety of dark-skinned fig, grown by Franciscan missionaries in California in the 1700's. It was the most popular commercial variety in California for a number of years, and you can see why when you eat one. They are extremely sweet, with a dark skin and lovely dark pink interior. They are not the most cold tolerant variety, so it works best as a zone 7-10 plant.  Please note, if you order this plant in winter, it will be defoliated.
