Chrysanthemum River City

This heirloom chrysanthemum has pink petals that mature into light orange, salmon, and yellow tones. With blooms 4 inches across on sturdy stems, River City is perfect for a flower display. The mature height of the blooms top out at 3 to 4 feet tall,  so make sure to give the plant support, as they are typically too heavy for the stems to hold upright. Sensitive to frost/freezes, you will want to protect them from the cold. This chrysanthemum is typical of those used by florists for displays and competitions. It requires specific care, but don't be fooled into thinking that the large blooms for vase cutting are unachievable by the average gardener. I was surprised at how easy they were to grow.
