Chinese Fountain Grass 'Viridescens' - Pennisetum

A clumping perennial grass that's tolerant of a wide variety of soils and salt spray,  Pennisetum 'Viridescens' is a tough but graceful plant. Arching leaves hang or blow in the wind. During bloom, dark brown to purple seeds are arranged in a bottlebrush shape on 3-foot-tall stalks. It is attractive planted in mass, as a focal point in a flower bed, and also in pots. It can readily self-seed, so keep this in mind when planting.
