Catnip - Nepeta cateria

Requested by rebellious kitties the world over, catnip is the feline drug of choice for it's intoxicating and silliness inducing effects. Not every cat will respond the same way to this relative in the mint family, but for some it appears pleasurable. It's also non-addictive, which is great for people who don't want to deal with a grumpy cat looking for a fix. It can be grown indoors and out. Planted in the ground, it makes a rangy perennial in zones 4-9, but will die back to the ground during the winter.
