Carolina Jessamine - Gelsemium sempervirens

Carolina jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens) is a semi-evergreen vining perennial that is native to the southeastern U.S. It has 2" long tubular fragrant yellow flowers that bloom en masse during early to mid-spring. It can quickly cover a fence, arbor, or slow-moving animal, so plant it where it can be easy to maintain the growth. Also, all parts of the plants are toxic, so if you have small children or dogs, be aware of this.
