Cardinal flower is a hardy native perennial with bright red flowers that are loved by hummingbirds and pollinators alike. The blooming period is mid to late summer, and continues for about a month. It grows best in consistently moist soil, and can also adapt to a wide range of temperatures and climates as long as the moisture is maintained.
