Boneset plant - Eupatorium perfoliatum
Boneset plant - Eupatorium perfoliatum
Boneset is a native herb with conspicuous white blooms in late summer and early fall. Bees and butterflies love the food source, and since it's a native perennial, it makes a great addition to a low-maintenance landscape. Selected as the 2003 NC wildflower of the year, Boneset prefers consistently moist soil and full to partial sun. Since it's a native, it is rarely bothered by disease or insects, and makes a nice addition to a consistently moist planting site, like beside water sources or drainage seeps. As herbaceous perennial, it dies back to the ground each winter, and sprouts again in the spring. If ordering this plant in the winter, please note that it will be trimmed back to soil level.
