Blanket Flower 'Arizona Red Shades' - Gaillardia

Blanket flower really lives up to its name. When you see how it spreads a dense mat of bright blooms across your flowerbed, you'll see what I mean. Friendly to the eyes of pollinators and humans alike, gaillardia takes on summer heat and winter chill with the shrug you would expect from a rugged native plant. It stays under 12 inches tall and tolerates poor soil and dry conditions. A short-lived perennial in zones 3 - 10, it is a generous self-seeder, so new plants will sprout if you let them.
